How to Watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Unlike other Marvel characters’ films, the Venom films are distributed by Sony Pictures, not Marvel/Disney. That means poison 2 will not (yet) be available on a streaming service upon release and can only be seen in theaters.

And since Sony hasn’t announced any hybrid release deals with major streaming services, Venom 2 is unlikely to hit Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime, or HBO Max in the near future (many Sony movies will end up on Starz, but if you have a subscription there). If you want to watch the movie at home, it will probably take a few months for it to be released digitally.

Is ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ playing in theaters?

It is, finally. The road to Venom: Let There Be Carnage that hit the big screen was pretty wild.

The film was originally set to premiere on October 2, 2020, but was delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shifting to June 5, 2021, then September 17, then September 24, and then October 15, ahead of the success of Shang- Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings inspired Sony to push Let There Be Carnage through October 1.

So, long story short, you can currently go see Venom: Let There Be Carnage in a movie theater. And after that box office first weekend, rest assured that it will probably stay in theaters for a while.

Of course, as the pandemic continues, you should check your local safety precautions carefully before purchasing a ticket.

Venom 2 Synopsis: What is the movie about?

As you can see in the trailer, the sequel kicks off shortly after the events of the first movie. It looks like Eddie Brock and Venom have a better friendship and get along more, but we’ll still see a lot of bickering between the two.

Brock is going to interview the death row inmate Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson). But before Kasady is killed, his Carnage symbiote comes out to protect him, leading to a showdown between Venom and Carnage.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage review

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a love story written in blood, sweat and the slime of a half-eaten brain. Sincerity is the last thing anyone expected from a sequel to Sony’s desperate attempt to monetize the few Marvel characters they haven’t handed over to Disney yet. Or from a franchise that ordered not one but two Eminem songs for the soundtrack.

Kelly Marcel’s script, based on a story she co-developed with star Tom Hardy, is loosely strung across the framework of the traditional comic book sequel.

Eddie Brock (Hardy), a journalist whose personality is largely defined by the fact that he rides a motorcycle, and who happens to be hosting an alien symbiote named Venom (also Hardy, with a Cookie Monster voice), must meet his match .
